I honestly think the provably fair feature in our bot is way more important than most people realize.

People like convenience. If thousands of people already use a GW bot, you naturally think, “why not use it too?”

Take @Perks as an example. It has tens of thousands of users and plenty of big channels use it. I’ve used it myself in the past.

But think about the amount of money flowing through these giveaways. Smaller GWs and bigger ones combined could easily add up to tens of thousands of dollars in giveaway value every month.

Now, I’m not saying @Perks rigs giveaways. I’m using it as an example because it’s widely used.

The point is that when you use a third-party GW bot, you’re trusting the system that picks the winners. There’s no guarantee for the average user that the system behind it is actually doing what it claims. And when there’s potentially that much money involved, you should probably think twice before blindly trusting any bot.

That’s why I think provable fairness matters.

Our system lets hosts verify that winners were selected from the saved entry list and that the draw wasn’t changed afterward.

Of course, use your brain — a provably fair bot doesn’t mean the GW itself is legitimate. We can verify the draw, but we can’t force a host to actually pay the winners.

That’s another problem we want to solve in the future. 👀

🎁 @GiveawayHosterBot is now live.

It’s a Telegram bot made for hosting giveaways in groups and channels.

You can create a giveaway, post it, manage it, track entries, add co-hosts, and handle winners directly through the bot.

It supports things like join requirements, bonus entries, referrals, boost rewards, message activity rewards, captcha protection, winner DMs, stats, rerolls, and more.

The bot also includes a provably fair system for winner draws, so hosts can verify that the winners were picked from the saved entry list and that the draw was not changed afterward.

💭 CrossMsg got a pretty big update.

We added Points and a Leaderboard to make the bot more fun, more active, and to reward chats that actually use it.

You can now earn points by:

• claiming daily points
• keeping a daily streak
• connecting with different chat types
• sending supported media types
• keeping connections active for longer
• joining Points Drops
• winning Cross-Chat Challenges
• inviting people with referrals

The Leaderboard shows the top chats using CrossMsg. The top 3 chats also get buttons that can send people to their group/channel, so being high on the leaderboard can help bring new people to your chat.

In the future, top leaderboard chats may also start receiving rewards/prizes, so points are not just for show.

We also added Cross-Chat Challenges. When your chat is connected to another chat, you can use /challenge and the other side can accept or decline. Right now there is Guess the Number, and more challenge games will be added later. The winner gets points, and nobody loses points.

There is also a Referral system. You can invite people through your referral link and earn bonus points when they join. The new person also gets bonus points.

These updates are meant to make CrossMsg more active, more competitive, and more worth using for groups, channels, and DMs.
