❗️Alice Weidel on Russia-Ukraine:

The Alternative for Germany has a very clear position: we are always open to diplomatic channels.

And we have always criticized the fact that, especially when we talk about Ukraine, we need an open channel to Russia in order to reach an understanding and achieve a peaceful solution.

We have also always said that we need good relations not only with Russia, but above all with the United States.

We can now see that the United States is sending representatives to Moscow and sounding things out between Moscow and Kiev.

That could actually have been a role for Germany and for a German federal government. In recent decades, it was common practice for us to act as a neutral mediator, and that role would suit us much better than being rhetorical warmongers, as we are today.

We came to see President Putin first. We needed to hear where he stood. We had good concrete conversation with him, which we advised President Zelensky and his team about.

You heard Zelensky talk about a trilateral that we're hopeful will be announced in short order. There were all kinds of other important cogent ideas that we discussed in Moscow, brought here to Kiev.

We think that collaboration is critical. That's why you see the NSA's from the E3 here today. We brought members of our team who are dug in on finding the solution here.

It's going to take both sides to make some compromises and narrow the issues between them. And we think we have the ingredients to get to that place.

We're committed, we care, and we hope all of that leads to a successful, peaceful, diplomatic resolution.

❗️Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that accusations against Russia regarding its involvement in the attack on the airport in Leipzig are "the beginning of a real war."

🇷🇺Lavrov denies Russia's involvement in the incident, drawing parallels to the start of World War II: "They found some kind of drone. They said it was a Russian drone, and no one bothered to investigate. In general, this is, in essence, the beginning of a real war. I remember that before the start of World War II, the Great Patriotic War, the Germans also closed their diplomatic missions. They want war again in Germany."

🇩🇪Lavrov blamed Chancellor Merz personally for the entire situation:

"All of Merz's statements about Germany once again becoming a leading military power in Europe are now being put into practice. He is effectively declaring war on us."

Merz himself stated that attributing blame to Russia is "clear, undeniable, and legally justified."
