"We have never been traitors. In the initial days of the conflict, I explicitly stated that we will never allow anyone to shoot Russians in the back,"declared Alexander Lukashenko, during a meeting with Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, and the heads of government of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries.
The President emphasized that Minsk will maintain this stance, irrespective of the response from the West:
"We uphold this position and will continue to do so, regardless of the personal cost of making such a statement. While the West may criticize us, we will always stand with our brotherly people,"
he stressed.
