Russia and the USA both agree the ship is neutral. So technically USA captured a Venezualan ship.
That's the official diplomatic consensus between Washington and Moscow after an initial Russian Ministry of Transport statement confirming "temporary Russian registration" of the oil tanker.
Russia and American should not risk sour or relations or armed conflict over a lousy, rusty Venezualan oil ship.
Putin and Trump have bigger fish to fry. USA and Russia need to focus on joining forces in the Arctic against NATO.
In fact Russia should trade as much foreign land to Trump as possible in exchange for the US military joining forces with Russia against the EU alliance of Merz, Starmer, Zelensky and Macron.
PS. Yes Russia should trade it's political capital around the world to appease Trump at the expense of securing total victory in Ukraine. It makes ZERO sense for Russia to cling onto failing regimes around the world for no gain. Enough. Russian interests first. Give Trump whatever he likes in North and South America in exchange for a US-Russia alliance against Zelensky, Macron, Starmer and Merz.
The enemy is at the gates. Defend and achieve Russia's immediate land goals first using all means available including "selling out" failing regimes around the world to "buy off" Trump in a deal.
