It feels like something is shifting beneath the surface of Europe.

The AfD has just won in Germany, while in England people have physically turned up at ports and roads to disrupt and protest the continued arrival of migrant boats.

For years, people were told to stay quiet, accept what was happening, and believe that nothing could be changed. Now that silence is beginning to break. These no longer feel like isolated moments. They feel like the first signs of something spreading.

Once people see that elections can be won, that resistance can become visible, and that public anger can no longer be ignored, the fear starts to disappear.

And when that happens in one country, others begin to watch.

For the first time in a long time, it feels like the tide may finally be turning across Europe.
