🚨 ONE NATION WANTS TO SLASH TOBACCO TAX BY 75%

Pauline Hanson has unveiled a plan to cut Australia’s tobacco excise by 75% and freeze further increases for three years, bringing the price of a legal $46.50 pack of cigarettes down to roughly $21–$22.

Hanson argues Australia’s extreme tobacco taxes have handed the market to organised crime, with illicit cigarettes now selling for as little as $12–$25. ABS estimates show illicit sources supplied 80% of nicotine consumed in Australia in 2025, despite years of tax increases intended to reduce smoking.

The plan would be paired with tougher border enforcement, faster shutdowns of illegal tobacco stores and stronger asset seizures targeting criminal networks.
