A 13-year-old boy has been charged after police allegedly uncovered plans for an attack on a Maryborough school, describing it as an “imminent threat”.

Investigators allege the teenager had been consuming violent extremist material and admitted wanting to kill people for months. He is the first person charged under Queensland’s new anti-extremism laws.
