🌐 NPoS: How It Solves the Issues of Traditional Proof-of-Stake
NPoS (Nominated Proof-of-Stake) is the evolution of the traditional Proof-of-Stake mechanism, designed to address the challenges faced by the old model. The primary goal of NPoS is to balance inclusivity and randomness while providing greater scalability and security for the network 💫
In traditional PoS, participants become full nodes, which increases network load and raises computational power requirements, especially as the number of participants grows 🚀 As the number of nodes increases, the complexity of communication between them also grows, slowing down the entire system.
This is how NPoS solves these problems:
🔺 Role Separation: NPoS separates the role of validators into active and candidate validators, randomly changing the validator set. This reduces network load and minimizes the need for constant synchronization between every node.
🔺 Validator Limitations: In NPoS, the number of active validators is fixed, and nominators (passive participants) vote for validators to join the consensus, limiting capital concentration and reducing the risks of centralization.
