😴 WHY GOOD SLEEP MATTERS
Sleep is more than simply taking a break from the day. According to sleep specialist Alex Dimitriu, it should be treated as an essential part of our physical and mental well-being.
During deep sleep, the brain carries out important maintenance and helps turn new information into lasting memories. REM sleep, which becomes longer toward morning, also plays a role in processing emotions, practising physical skills, and supporting creativity.
Poor sleep can affect much more than our energy levels. When we are tired, we may become more impulsive, less patient, and less able to control our emotions.
So, getting enough sleep is not wasted time. Adults generally need around seven to eight hours each night, and maintaining regular bed and wake times can help.
Creating a calm evening routine and putting away our phones before bed may also make it easier to rest.
Sometimes, the best way to become more productive is simply to sleep better. 🌙
