"[...] To many of us, freedom and dignity are more important than a long life or avoidance of physical pain. Besides, we all have to die some time, and it may be better to die fighting for survival, or for a cause, than to live a long but empty and purposeless life."

-Ted Kaczysnki 🌲

If by wealthier he means enslaved by our own invention, stuck on the same land, loss of our freedom, deteriorating our health and disconnection from our natural environment, then sure, we got wealthier.

β€œWe could rebuild old Greece. Knock down the skyscrapers, burn modern art, wipe blank the entirety of digitization. We can level housing developments and turn shopping centers back into forests. We could leave behind a world of impurity and pain. Arguments settled in sword fights. Television replaced by live theater. Everything is marble and nothing hurts. We could tell the time via sundial and we could raise our precious young in the purity of sunlight. We could sleep and wake as our bodies felt. We could finally look up and see the stars again. They would reflect in our eyes, guiding the way when memory couldn't."

Freedom Club - Resurgent They are absolutely incapable of living a normal life
I would also like to add that they are in favour of this sanitized easily controllable society because their ultimate goal is transcending the limits of death, which they fear, because they are materialists incapable of fulfilling the power process.

They spit on everything our ancestors cared about. They are disgusted at our humanity and the natural world, so they try to replace it with artificial nothingness.

Why? part of the answer is in their psychology. They are absolutely incapable of living a normal life. They cannot make friends, they cannot find lovers, they cannot find satisfaction, and they suffer from depression and autistically skewed worldviews.

These are the people that control our world. As Ted put it:
"[they] are taking us all on an utterly reckless ride into the unknown".
Will we sit in the back and allow them to take us on this ride until we are no longer able to escape it?

At the end of the day, capitalism, communism, socialism, or any other economic system is yet another way of organizing industrial production.

🚫A lasting compromise between the machine, human freedom, dignity and wild nature can't be made.🚫

If you still believe it's all "the fault of capitalism" Check out this article for more information.

For long the global civilization of the total state has held the yoke of men tight, we have been beaten, trampled, and murdered in the name of progess and civility.

Man has been robbed of purpose, he has been raped by civilization and called "good" for submitting to it, and he has lost sight of what truly is and should be.

"The system does not and cannot exist to satisfy human needs. Instead, it is human behavior that has to be modified to fit the needs of the system. This has nothing to do with the political or social ideology that may pretend to guide the technological system... the system is guided not by ideology but by technical necessity. Of course the system does satisfy many human needs, but generally speaking it does this only to the extent that it is to the advantage of the system to do it. It is the needs of the system that are paramount, not those of the human being."

"The techno-industrial system is exceptionally tough due to its so-called β€œdemocratic” structure and its resulting flexibility.

"Because dictatorial systems tend to be rigid, social tensions and resistance can be built up in them to the point where they damage and weaken the system and may lead to revolution. But in a β€œdemocratic” system, when social tension and resistance build up dangerously the system backs off enough, it compromises enough, to bring the tensions down to a safe level...

"... attacking the system is like hitting a piece of rubber. A blow with a hammer can shatter cast iron, because caste iron is rigid and brittle. But you can pound a piece of rubber without hurting it because it is flexible: It gives way before protest, just enough so that the protest loses its force and momentum. Then the system bounces back.

"So, in order to hit the system where it hurts, you need to select issues on which the system will not back off, in which it will fight to the finish. For what you need is not compromise with the system but a life and death struggle."

"We're going to consume until we burn everything, we just find a new thing to consume every now and then. If solar panels can replace all our energy needs, we'll invent some new stupid fuck thing to use more energy and clean entire rain forests for more solar panels.Your blood will be filled with graphene fragments and dead nanobots polluting the air and water. They'll make good friends with the microplastics.

The consumerist desires of modern man will never be satisfied. This hunger for material possessions and convenience comes at a great cost to our freedom and the natural world.

A lasting compromise can never be made.

At the end of it all, in those darkest of day, smiles man atop the mountain debris. He can see the many stars, smell the coming wind, only now does he know that he's free.

Never lose hope, be persistent and stubborn and never give up. There are many instances in history where apparent losers suddenly turn out to be winners unexpectedly, so you should never conclude all hope is lost.

"Another cell tower erected is another spot in which god becomes blind. Heavens light is snubbed by shields of internet work, bluetooth connections, and phone link entanglements. We've boxed god out... And given ourselves strange cancers and illnesses. And become dependant on something historical and extremely undependaple." - Mike Ma.

This situation is an excellent example of how technophiles and the Techno-industrial system as a whole value technical progress and advancement over humanity. They believe that humans are obstacles in the path of progress, and expenses as if we are soulless machinery. They only value technical efficiency and advancement, rather than human values like freedom and dignity. They can claim that they support human values all they want, but when they have to pick, they will always choose progress, no matter the cost.

I often look at pretty images and get carried away, thinking that this world is beautiful, forgetting that we have surrounded ourselves in the ugly and the weak and left behind all things beautiful and strong in the name of progress and cheap comfort. I look at images, videos or views that reflect the natural beauty of the world and sometimes for a second forget how fucked everything around is.

Sometimes the right image with the right little song playing in the background is enough to remind you that maybe things aren't that bad, only for you to see something that shatters that dream on the very next day.

And to once again bring me to the conclusion that beauty stems from nature and the simplicity around observing it. Not because everything in nature is perfect and devoid of suffering, but because nature gets rid of the weak and the ugly to make space for the strong and the beautiful. That way the ugly isn't kept around, suffering and polluting and degrading the beautiful.

So the dream can't be shattered.

β€œBy virtue of the way it has organized its technological base, contemporary industrial society tends to be totalitarian. For "totalitarian" is not only a terroristic political coordination of society, but also a non-terroristic economic-technical coordination which operates through the manipulation of needs by vested interests.”

--- Herbert Marcuse, One-Dimensional Man
