In Matthew 27:35, the ESV removes & does not let the reader see that Jesus fulfilled Psalm 22:18's prophecy.

Matthew 27:35 KJB
And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.βœ…πŸ’―

Matthew 27:35 ESV
And when they had crucified him, they divided his garments among them by casting lots.❌😰

The background of Matthew 27:35 is Matthew 27:27-29 KJB, in which Pilate's soldiers mock Jesus, put a crown of thorns on His head, & put a scarlet robe on Jesus before crucifying Him.

Unlike ESV, the KJB
shows Psalm 22:18's prophecy of Jesus' garments being parted and his vesture being cast lots for, is fulfilled during Jesus crucifixion as per Matthew 27:35 KJB.
Psalm 22:18 KJB says, They part my garments among them, And cast lots upon my vesture.

The ESV removes the bolded words from Matthew 27:35, & the KJB keeps & preserves those words.
