The ESV used the Revised Standard Version of 1952 so its basically a revision of the 1952 RSV[ which is not a translation (Source) but a revision of the 1901 American Standard Version/ASV (Source), and the 1901 ASV is an edition of the 1881 Revised Version (Source) of Westcott and Hort 1881 Revised Version New Testament.
The ESV does not use the Traditional Text/Textus Receptus editions, so it takes out the crucial ye, thou and thee words as the ESV Preface says "archaic language has been brought into current usage and significant corrections have been made". Another of the reasons the ESV would still not be decent is because the people behind the ESV were Calvinist. The proof of this is the ESV writers even changed Revelation 13:8 to fit the Calvinist heresy of selective predestination by changing Revelation 13:8 from "...whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" (KJB) to "whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain" (ESV).
And the ESV also admits in their preface to using texts like the preservation-denying Septuagint (which twists Psalm 12:6-7 and attacks God's preservation of His Word)and the Catholic Latin Vulgate of Jerome the Catholic.
"In exceptional, difficult cases, the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Septuagint, the Samaritan Pentateuch, the Syriac Peshitta, the Latin Vulgate, and other sources were consulted to shed possible light on the text, or, if necessary, to support a divergence from the Masoretic text." (Link).π€‘β οΈ
