130-202AD: Irenaeus quotes & refers to parts of Mark 16:17-19 as well, while debunking the heresy of Gnosticism (Gnosticism wants man to become gods, just like Satan's lie he told Eve as recorded in Genesis 3:5)
"For the Lord [the word "Lord" is in part of Mark 16:19, not Ephesians 4:8], through means of suffering, 'ascending into ["into" is in Mark 16:19, refering to when Jesus "was recieved up into heaven"] the lofty place, led captivity captive, gave gifts to men [italicized words are a reference to Ephesians 4:8]," and conferred on those that believe [part of Mark 16:17] in Him the power "to tread upon serpents [part of Luke 10:19 in bold and part of Mark 16:18 underlined] and scorpions, and on all the power of the enemy [part of Luke 10:19]". (Irenaeus, Book II [Book 2], Chapter XX, [Paragraph 5] contained in Ante Nicene Fathers, Page 388)

Mark 16:17-19 KJB
[17] And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; [18] they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. [19] So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
