Why is the words "thou" and "ye" important? Because "thou, thee, and thine" talk to and refer to one person/entity.
Meanwhile, the "ye, you, your, and yours" are for two or more people/entities.
Example: When Jesus speak with Nicodemus, he said:
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
John 3:7 KJB
By removing words like "thee, thou, thyself, thine, and ye", the modern versions (ESV, NASB, NIV, NLT, etc) make it harder for people to discern & know whether God, the people in the Old and New Testament, and the writers of the Bible's books were talking to one person/entity (singular word) or to two or more people/entities (plural word).
Another effect is the modern versions also take away the true meaning out of verses like John 3:7. In John 3:7, the modern versions remove thee and ye, thus prevent readers from seeing that Jesus was saying to Nicodemus (thee) that "ye" (everybody) must be born again. Stick with the King James Bible!
