⚖️ A Buddhist abbot in Thailand has been arrested after allegedly having sex on a table and embezzling nearly $2.8 million in donations.

The 66-year-old Phra Wachinayan headed one of Thailand’s oldest active temples. Investigators say unauthorised donation documents were issued through the temple, while he transferred nearly $300,000 to a 47-year-old woman close to him in cash, gold bars, jewellery and Buddhist amulets.

Police also found footage from the monk’s residence showing the abbot and his assistant kissing and having sex on a dining table.
