🚫Today is the 15th anniversary of the Wafa al-Ahrar (Faithful to the Free) prisoner exchange deal that freed martyr combatant Yahya Sinwar.
On 25 June 2006, Al-Qassam Brigades and the Al-Nasser Salah Al-Din Brigades managed to capture terrorist Gilad Shalit from his tank in a cross-border raid via tunnels.
Al-Qassam held the terrorist for over 5 years and released him on 18 October 2011 as part of a prisoner exchange deal in which 1,027 Palestinian prisoners were freed in exchange of one terrorist.
208 of the released Palestinian prisoners had been sentenced to life in prison, including martyr combatant leader Yahya Sinwar.
