โIโve written project requirements, but Iโm not sure theyโre good. How do I check?โ
Here are three things mentors will look for straight away:
โ๏ธ Atomicity (one requirement = one function/behavior)
Bad: โThe system must support users and send notifications.โ
Good: โThe system must send an email after a user registers.โ
โ๏ธ Unambiguous wording (only one way to interpret it)
Bad: โThe interface must be user-friendly.โ
Good: โThe Save button must be placed in the top-right corner of the modal window.โ
โ๏ธ Testability (QA can verify it)
Bad: โThe website must load fast.โ
Good: โThe homepage must fully load in under 3 seconds.โ
๐ค Your next step:
Pick any requirement from your document and run it through this checklist. Rewrite it if needed.
๐ง Ask AI:
โHereโs my functional requirements document for a mobile app. Check each requirement for atomicity, clarity, and testability. Tell me which points should be rewritten and suggest improved versions: [paste your text].โ
