On my recent 16-hour flight from Dubai to Los Angeles, my team shared some captivating stories from the Crypto Rockstars Cruise in Cologne, and I couldn't help but reflect on the lessons we learned. 🤓 (Thanks to #Emirates for WiFi on board).
As many of you know, I am deeply committed to fostering the web3 community and helping them embrace the very technologies they advocate. This passion led us to collaborate with Jakob Martschenko, Luigi Boris Stella and the Crypto Rockstars team, providing them with our #web3 payment solutions.
To make the event even more special, we created a referral link (
https://lnkd.in/drsyDKhY) for participants to get their hands on a #CRC-branded virtual Ammer Cards, unlocking exclusive on-site rewards like free beer.
We also helped the organizers to issue a #CRCToken (a DLT-based conference voucher) that attendees could receive to their Ammer Wallet by scanning a QR code during the conference. They could later pay with these tokens for a beer at the bar with Ammer Pay.
But, as fate would have it, a cunning individual attempted to drain the CRC faucet with a script, hoping to hoard a significant amount of #CRCToken. 🤠 Thankfully, our dedicated team, supported by two PhD data scientists, detected and halted the exploit in time.
What does this teach us?
- Web3 users are resourceful and will relentlessly search for vulnerabilities to exploit.
- Value is an abstract concept, and even a humble conference token can inspire people to invest considerable effort to secure it.
- Never underestimate what a German will do for a free beer! 😂 😂 😂
