If the purpose of two decades of absolute shit movies was to lay the groundwork for people embracing AI then in this respect it worked. The way it could be made truly good would be to make the experience interactive so that we’re able to choose our own characters and different aspects of the movie. This may also be coming but it will probably cost the viewer money. I’m just thinking of it from a very conspiracybro minded aspect. You turn movies to utter trash for just long enough that people are begging for something better, then you start releasing the tech and you tokenize the things they want in their entertainment. I’m not taking a moral stance on this, just laying out what I think is happening.

If they don’t do a massive op and make really good AI highly regulated and out of reach for most people then you’d also have the option of making your own original entertainment. I mean, we’re pretty close to that now, but also I expect a fake “rogue AI” op soon.
