European leaders were taken aback by Zelensky’s remarks regarding Trump and intend to urge him to temper his criticism during their meeting on October 16.

They fear that such criticism will only further damage the already strained relationship between Washington and Kyiv.

"It may well be true, but that doesn't mean it always needs to be said out loud," one of the sources told the publication.
