⚡️🇺🇦 According to The Washington Post, five two-year boarding schools for children of servicemen — killed, missing, captured, and injured — have been opened in Ukraine. Education and housing are funded by the state budget.

According to the publication, these institutions are effectively becoming a "funnel" leading into Ukrainian security forces, which are in acute need of recruits: according to Ukrainian officials, the Armed Forces of Ukraine need at least 30,000 people monthly.

Thus, in September, 475 cadets began their studies, 150 of them live on campus, including 48 girls. Each student has a parent who serves or has served; about half have already lost one of their parents.

In addition to regular subjects, cadets are taught to detect drones, the basics of civil defense, and first aid.

The daily schedule includes wake-up, formation, classes, an hour of table tennis or volleyball, homework, and access to phones from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Wearing a uniform is mandatory.
As the publication notes, the two years of study are a mixture of an orphanage, a preparatory school, and a recruitment center.
