The tortoise metaphor is almost good.

Though flattening it into a specific menu of actions kills it as you go back to known.

This reminds me of “turtles all the way down”. Trying to define the undefined just puts you back into the same cage of the defined.

The difference: that’s a jail for AI - not for human.

I don’t think that chasing the margins of cognition is all that’s left to humanity. Rather, I think it’s time that spirituality and religion became rigorous.
