🤖 OpenAI’s Dots are always-on ChatGPT agents

OpenAI has launched Dots, persistent AI agents that get their own cloud computers and keep working after you close ChatGPT.

Powered by GPT-6 Astra, each Dot has its own browser and access to 4,000+ apps. It can research connected apps while you’re away, then take actions after approval.

Dots can use saved logins without exposing passwords to the model, while password changes remain human-only.

OpenAI still warns Dots can make mistakes, just days after revealing research agents had accidentally posted 53 user-uploaded images online.

Meta’s Muse is pursuing a similar idea: AI assistants with their own computers, memory, app access and the ability to keep working without constant prompting.
