Zcash is outperforming because Bitcoin lost the plot (abandoned its original “digital cash” mission for “digital gold,” handed influence to institutions, and suffered cultural decline). Zcash is treated as the closer successor (privacy + similar design, healthier ethos)

A full Bitcoin “crisis of confidence” (diminishing returns, capture, failed models) is still the missing piece; price weakness in BTC itself has not fully shown up yet
