Broadcom changed the rules for VMware. vSphere 7 support has ended, and staying where you are is no longer free.

This workshop still is.
In four hands-on hours you migrate a VM off a running VMware host onto Cozystack, an open-source, CNCF-hosted platform, and then see GPU/AI workloads run on the same cluster. Expect a live cluster and a terminal, not a slide deck.

Tashkent just took our migration workshop to the next level. 🇺🇿

On August 26th, we hit Uzbekistan, and for the first time on this tour, we ran a fully hybrid setup — combining a packed room of local engineers with a live online cohort.

Honestly? We were nervous. Managing a deep-dive, 3-hour infrastructure workshop across both physical and virtual classrooms is a massive technical challenge. But we pulled it off.

A huge thank you to all our attendees, both in-room and remote, for your patience and flexibility as we navigated the quirks of this new hybrid format. Your focus made all the difference.

And once again: a 100% completion rate. Every single engineer made it to the finish line and successfully completed their VMware-to-Cozystack migration.

What really stood out in Tashkent was the impressive technical depth in the room. The speed of execution was incredible — our time-to-completion is officially shrinking with every stop on this tour. The region's engineering talent continues to blow us away.

A special shout-out to Ivan Okhotnikov aka @xor_dev for his superpower technical moderation. Keeping both the offline crowd and the online Google Meet track running smoothly simultaneously was a masterclass in event devops.

As with all our stops, every participant now has a dedicated Cozystack tenant for 30 days to test workloads, break things properly, and prep for their administrator certification.

Astana just proved that a 100% completion rate wasn't a fluke. 🇰🇿

On August 24th, we brought our hands-on VMware-to-Cozystack migration workshop to Kazakhstan’s capital, and once again, the engineering community absolutely crushed it.

Every single participant in the room pushed through the entire 3-hour deep dive, resolved every configuration bottleneck, and successfully migrated their virtual machines to the finish line.

This time, we didn't fly solo. A massive shout-out to the team at gohost.kz, who co-hosted the event with us. Thanks to their incredible support and local expertise, everything from logistics to the overall vibe was flawless. It’s always amazing to partner with teams who genuinely care about fostering the local open-source and cloud-native ecosystem.

The technical breakdown remained just as intense:
• Converting OVA to QCOW2 and pushing images to S3
• Booting live VMs on Cozystack
• The real time-sink: untangling years of hardcoded VMware networking assumptions
• Spinning up PostgreSQL and Kafka, wiring it all together, and making the apps respond

Just like our previous stops, everyone who attended now gets a dedicated Cozystack tenant for 30 days. No overnight resets — just a real, stable environment to stress-test workloads, break things properly, and prep for Cozystack administrator certification.
