CoinMarketCap acquired CoinGlass, the derivatives data platform traders use to track open interest, funding rates, liquidations and options across major exchanges. The deal has closed, and financial terms were not disclosed.
CoinGlass keeps its name and runs as an independent business: its site, app, free tools, API and pricing stay the same for existing users. Founded in 2019, it covers 28 exchanges and 2,500+ instruments, including long/short ratios and ETF flows, and serves over 5M monthly users and 10,000 API customers. CoinMarketCap CEO Rush said CoinGlass "is where most people go to see" how derivatives traders are positioned, and that the goal is to make that view available to many more people.
For CoinMarketCap's 115M monthly users, that means seeing leverage, liquidation clusters and funding next to the prices they already check. CoinMarketCap itself has been owned by Binance since 2020.
