Arbitrum launched Priority Gas Auctions and Fast Feed on Arbitrum One, replacing Timeboost with a per-transaction system where any user or app can pay a standard priority fee for faster ordering.
Timeboost, live since April 2025, auctioned a 60-second express lane to a single winner, which required custom tooling and did not suit apps that need cheap, frequent priority updates. Under PGA, bids ride on the usual EIP-1559 priority fee and are ordered in 125ms rounds inside a 250ms block, so full blocks can ship early and the chain can produce up to 8 blocks per second under load. An anti-starvation boost keeps zero-tip transactions from waiting indefinitely. The paid Fast Feed streams each transaction as soon as it is ordered, before the block closes, without exposing the private mempool.
Priority fees and Fast Feed subscriptions are collected by the chain owner, adding a new revenue line for the Arbitrum DAO treasury, and PGA is now available for activation across all Arbitrum chains.
