Payward and Ledger brought xStocks to Ledger Wallet, making hundreds of US and international tokenized equities available to millions of Ledger users with 24/7 market access.
The integration lets eligible users hold supported xStocks on Ledger hardware wallets instead of leaving them on an online trading account, and require physical approval on the device before a supported transaction goes through. Ledger is starting with tokenized stocks from Payward's xStocks platform, the same self-custody model crypto users already rely on for their private keys. Payward co-CEO David Ripley said the companies aim to combine "secure self-custody and global financial infrastructure." Product rights, availability and regulatory treatment of each tokenized stock still vary by market.
The deal is the latest step in Kraken parent Payward's tokenized equities push, which also includes plans to tokenize the 100 biggest UK stocks with the London Stock Exchange and a Nasdaq-backed tokenized stock gateway.
