June, 29 is the Day of Partisans and Underground Fighters.
Four years ago, I knew almost nothing about the Russian Resistance.
Today, I know names, faces and stories that most people in the West will never hear.
Some are no longer alive, some are imprisoned, some are still fighting, some simply disappeared.
Over the years, I have learned that resistance isn't an abstract political idea. It's people... People with families, fears, hopes and dreams, who one day decided that living under a dictatorship was no longer an option.
As a Western supporter, I cannot walk their path for them... But I can stand beside them.
I can explain who they are, translate their voices, tell their stories, and remind people in the West that Russia is more than the Kremlin.
Not every Russian supports Putin, not every Russian supports this war.
Many have already paid an unimaginable price for choosing freedom over silence.
June 29 isn't only about remembering the partisans of the past - it's also about those who continue to resist today, often without recognition, often without support, and sometimes completely alone.
To all of them:
Thank you 🫡
Your courage deserves to be remembered - not only on June 29, but every day 🫡
